One page per question. Every control is explained in the docs.
Get it done
- How to export a Figma frame as an MP4Figma’s export panel offers PNG, JPG, SVG and PDF, not video. Here is how to export a design frame as an MP4 with the Video Exportify plugin, in three steps.
- How to put a video inside a Figma design and export itDesign the frame in Figma, mark the layer the footage goes in, and export the whole design as a video with your clip playing inside it.
- How to make an Instagram story video from a Figma frameDesign the story at 1080 × 1920 in Figma, put your clip in a video layer and export it as an MP4 that is ready to post. Ten versions export in one go.
- How to export several Figma frames as videos at onceSelect several frames in Figma and export one video per frame in a single go, with the same settings and files named after the frames.
Or the other way?
- Video Exportify or Figma Buzz?Figma Buzz exports video from its own files. Video Exportify exports video from the Figma design files you already have. Which one fits depends on where your work lives.
- Exporting a video from Figma, or recording the screen?Recording the screen works for a quick look. For a file you hand to a client, exporting the frame gives exact pixels, a set length and no cursor.
When something is unclear
- Licence key and restoring a purchaseWhere the key is, a lost key, a new computer, a second Figma account, and resetting a key that got out.
- Plans and billingWhat Free and Pro include, how render seconds are counted, renewing, cancelling, and what happens when you run out.
- Data and networkWhat the plugin uploads, when, to which domains, where it is stored and for how long. For security reviews.
- How do I try Video Exportify without my own video?Press “Try our sample” on the plugin’s first screen: three ready-made posts with a clip, the first one ready to export.
- Why do I have to attach a video that is already in my Figma frame?Figma’s plugin API does not give plugins the bytes of a video on the canvas, so Video Exportify asks for the file once more.
- The plugin shows no video layer for my frameA layer becomes a video slot when it has a video fill or a trigger word in its name, and sits inside the selected frame.
- My export shows a plain colour where the video should beUp to Version 6, a video inside a filled frame with layers above it exported as that frame’s colour. Version 7 fixes it.
- Which video files can I use?MP4, MOV and WebM up to 512 MB per clip. H.264 MP4 is the safest choice when a short clip has to loop.
- My clip is shorter than the exportA clip shorter than the export loops; a longer one is cut. The plugin says which before you export.
- A clip freezes on its last frame instead of loopingShort clips should loop. Freezing was a bug before version 3; if it still happens, the clip’s codec is the likely cause.
- The video stutters at one pointSwitch Speed to frame-exact. Fast mode renders the timeline in many small pieces, and some codecs seek imprecisely across a cut.
- The export is refused as too longFree exports run up to 5 seconds, Pro exports up to 60, and a Pro export has to fit the render seconds you have left.
- A batch export stopped part-wayOne failing frame does not stop a batch. Running out of exports or render seconds does; the list says which frames finished.
- The plugin still says Free after I pasted my licence keyThe key is checked against the server, so a typo changes nothing. Copy it again from the dashboard instead of retyping it.
- I lost my licence keyThe dashboard emails the key back to the address you paid with. There is no password; that mailbox is the proof of ownership.
- The video does not look like my frameIt should match exactly. Send the Figma file and the clip to info@videoexportify.com.
