Figma’s export panel gives you PNG, JPG, SVG and PDF, but no video. To get an MP4, run the Video Exportify plugin in your design file: select the frame, attach a video clip to its video layer, and press Export. The result is an MP4 (or WebM) at the frame’s own pixel size that looks exactly like the frame, because everything static in it is rendered by Figma itself.
- 01
Select the frame
Open Video Exportify from Plugins in a Figma design file and select one top-level frame, or several.
- 02
Attach a clip to each video layer
Every layer with a video fill, or with “video” or “clip” in its name, is listed as a slot. Upload a clip, drop a file on the slot, or reuse one you already uploaded.
- 03
Export
Pick the length and press Export. The MP4 is ready in seconds and is named after the frame.
What ends up in the video
Everything in the frame. Fonts, blurs, drop shadows, masks, strokes and rounded corners are rendered by Figma and laid over your footage, so they are the same pixels you see on the canvas. Only the video layers move, along with layers whose background blur has to sample the footage beneath them.
A video fill is honoured as you placed it: cropped, tiled, fitted or filled. A clip shorter than the export loops; a longer one is cut.
What it costs
Free: 3 exports a month (5 with a confirmed email address), up to 5 seconds each, watermarked.
Pro: €19 a month for 5,000 render seconds, up to 60 seconds per export, 2× resolution, 60 fps, no watermark.
Questions
Can Figma export MP4 on its own?
Not from the export panel of a design file, which offers PNG, JPG, SVG and PDF. Figma Buzz, a separate editor with its own files, can export video. Video Exportify adds video export to the design files you already have.
Which formats and sizes work?
Output is MP4 or WebM, at 30 or 60 fps, at the frame’s size or twice that. Frames can be up to 4096 × 4096 px. Source clips can be MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 512 MB each.
Do I need an account?
No. Install the plugin and export. Pro is a licence key you paste into the plugin once.
Try it on your own frame
Free to try, no account. Or watch the plugin work in the browser first.
