Exporting a video from Figma, or recording the screen?

Screen recording is fine for showing a colleague something quickly. For a video you deliver, exporting is the better way: the file has the frame’s exact pixel size, the length you set and nothing on it that was not in the design. With Video Exportify, ten frames become ten videos in one go, where recording means ten takes and ten crops.

When recording is the right tool

When you want to show a prototype being used: taps, transitions between screens, scrolling. Video Exportify exports a frame with video playing inside it; it does not play back prototype interactions.
